Liberty Mutual Group CEO Edmund F. “Ted” Kelly retires from active management effective June 28th and is succeeded by President David H. Long. Ted Kelly, an Insurance Federation of New York, Inc. Free Enterprise Awardee and model executive, will continue to serve as chairman of the board of Liberty Mutual Holding Co. Mr. Long, a 25-year Liberty Mutual veteran, w ill serve as CEO and president of the insurer. He has been president since 2010… Insurance agents, brokers and other licensees of the New York State Insurance Department may obtain and print copies of new and renewed license by accessing a self-service feature on the Insurance Department’s website http://www.ins.state.ny.us/elec_license_req.htm. The Insurance Department issues approximately 125,000 new and renewed licenses a year. Licenses are generally issued within 24 to 48 hours after applications are received and then screened by the Department. The new electronic capability allows licensees to immediately download licenses in a secure pdf format. Under the new system, the Department will notify applicants by e-mail that when their licenses are issued and available to be accessed electronically. Alternatively, applicants may use the “producer look-up” tool on the Department’s website to see if a license has been issued… Seven New York high school students are receiving scholarships from an industry educational program. InVEST, the insurance industry’s premier classroomto- career education program. InVEST promotes insurance education in order to attract individuals to pursue careers in the insurance industry. Each year, the program prepares thousands of students for insurance-related careers with a hands-on curriculum taught in high schools, adult education centers and community colleges. InVEST announced 54 scholarship winners for 2011 out of 101 applicants.
