Capital Event

Kudos to Maura Clancy and fellow members of the IFNY Board for a stellar cocktail reception on September 7, 2011, at the New York Capital Grille in lower Manhattan. At first, organizers were not sure that the date would work coming as it did 24 hours after the Labor Day break. But, in fact, it was quite well attended –more than 80 professionals–with several regulators from the New York State Insurance Department and others present for informal discussion in a comfortable environment conducive to free and open give and take. Supt. Jim Wrynn spoke to the group on the recent activities of the DFS. The Federation is setting up more events in the near future leading up to its November 9, 2011, Free Enterprise Award Luncheon. WILLIS chiefJoseph Plumeri will be the Free Enterprise awardee, joining an illustrious group of past recipients including legends in the world of business….Sad note: William Spain of Mahopac, long a leader among independent agents and an active, decorated volunteer passed away last week. Bill was in his 90’s and lived a rich, productive life. R.I.P….
