IFNY Names Rebecca McLean Executive Director

Ms. Rebecca McLean (pictured) of Old Greenwich, Connecticut, has been named Executive Director of The Insurance Federation of New York, a 106-year-old nonprofit organization that serves the insurance field. She assumes the office on January 1, 2020.

Since its inception in 1913, the Insurance Federation of New York, Inc. (IFNY) has earned broad-based distinction as one of New York’s insurance industry’s most widely respected organizations, communicating ideas among all sectors of the industry and bringing public and private interests together for the benefit of the business and the insured public.

As Executive Director, Ms. McLean will oversee activities of the Federation and will interface with its Board, overseeing its well-known Free Enterprise Awards Luncheon, its “Breakfast with” program series, and its Emerging Leaders events.

According to Mr. Nick Pearson, President of the Insurance Federation of New York, Inc., Ms. McLean is an accomplished and innovative operations executive with major corporate and luxury brands’ experience. She possesses excellent technology and consultative expertise with strong marketing and sales leadership skills to IFNY for improved operating efficiencies. “An experienced relationship builder with stakeholders, she is well versed in management with a track record in strategic planning, business process re-engineering and sales,” Mr. Pearson stated.

Ms. McLean brings to IFNY experience as a sales and marketing executive at IBM Corporation where she served clients in the computer services, insurance and telecommunications industries.  She transitioned into the luxury jewelry market to lead the retail division of a designer jewelry company, honing her consumer-oriented sales, marketing and operations skills. A graduate of The University of Akron with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Ms. McLean currently serves on her condominium association’s board and is an active volunteer in the local arts community.
