The Excess Line Association Of New York (ELANY) is Pleased to Announce the AppointmentofJanetPane as Exec.Director

Pane comes to ELANY from Willis Towers Watson (WTW) where she is currently Managing Director and Head of Global Services & Solutions, Corporate Risk & Broking. She joined WTW in 1999 and has held a variety of leadership positions during her career. Pane has been a member of the ELANY Board of Directors since 2009, serving as Chair from 2016-2018.
Pane was named an Insurance Business America 2019 Elite Women honoree and was included in Business Insurance’s 2012 Women to Watch list.

Pane was selected following an extensive recruiting process that included numerous fine candidates. Ultimately, her deep skill set and experience with ELANY’s operations stood out.

Pane will join ELANY in June. She succeeds current Executive Director Daniel Maher, who will serve as a senior advisor for the remainder of 2023 and retire in 2024 following 26 years leading ELANY.
The Excess Line Association of New York (ELANY) was created pursuant to statute in
1988 to facilitate compliance with the excess line insurance laws of New York. The Association enhances consumer protection by reviewing excess line insurance broker filings; stamping those filings that meet certain legal requirements; educating excess line brokers, insurers, and advisors regarding their obligations under state law and regulations; advocating on behalf of member and consumer interests; and monitoring
the financial condition of excess line insurance companies.
