Crawford & Company® Introduces Turvism: A New SaaS Technology Provider for P&C Claims
Claims Technology Veteran Ken Tolson to Serve as CEO of the New Company
Crawford & Company®, a leading global provider of claims management and outsourcing solutions to the insurance industry, has announced the launch of TurviSM, a new insurtech company offering market-ready SaaS solutions built to create a more efficient and accurate, P&C claims ecosystem.
Turvi’s SaaS products leverage AI and automation capabilities to accelerate the claim processing workflow, expedite the estimating process, simplify the claim coverage review process and improve the customer experience. Initially developed in-house at Crawford & Company for the benefit of clients leveraging the company’s claims services, the Turvi suite of products will now be accessible to the entire claims industry.
The newly formed company will be led by Chief Executive Officer, Ken Tolson, who has more than three decades of experience with Crawford in varying capacities. A known claims industry expert with a proven track record of leading technology innovation across the organization, Tolson brings a passion for the future of insurance that makes him uniquely qualified to lead the new venture.
Tolson feels strongly that industry collaboration and market understanding is what is missing from the insurtech landscape for claims:
“Having lived and learned from every facet of the claims lifecycle in our time at Crawford, we understand the industry’s complex needs, and we’ve built customized technology solutions to address its challenges.”
“There is a services gap in the industry that has left carriers under-resourced to manage claims,” Tolson added. “We are launching Turvi to help address this issue, by providing partners, large and small, new and established, the tools they need to address big problems in the claims process – and in doing so, to help improve the policyholder experience.”
Crawford President and CEO, Rohit Verma, said,
“This new venture aligns with Crawford’s commitment to the technology and people that will transform our industry, forging a more direct path to recovery for policyholders and carriers following losses. I have every confidence that Ken and his team will leverage partnerships and collaboration to create groundbreaking new synergies that will revolutionize how the entire industry processes claims.”
Headquartered in the Atlanta Tech Village, a nationally recognized destination for innovation and start-ups, Turvi is connected to the area’s leading technology catalysts and partners. According to Tolson, “The Atlanta Tech Village is an innovation thinktank, and we are excited to be part of the culture and network of the leading technology companies that occupy the space.” In support of its launch, Turvi will be attending InsurTech Connect in Las Vegas, October 15—17, 2024 and the Triple-I Joint Industry Forum on November 20, 2024.
Based in Atlanta, Crawford & Company (NYSE: CRD-A and CRD-B) is a leading global provider of claims management and outsourcing solutions to insurance companies and self-insured entities with an expansive network serving clients in more than 70 countries.
