Gallagher acquires firms in UK, New YorK

Gallagher Bassett Services Inc. claims management has acquired W K Webster & Co. Ltd., a London-based marine and transit claims consultancy.

Separately, Gallagher said Monday it acquired Syracuse, New York-based Dominick Falcone Agency Inc. and Falcone Associates Inc.

Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

W K Webster, with 250 employees, has offices in New York, the Netherlands and Singapore, in addition to its London headquarters.

Anthony Smith, CEO, and staff will join Gallagher Bassett under the direction of Manan Sagar, head of Gallagher Bassett’s Europe, Middle East and Asia operations.

Dominick Falcone Agency provides property/casualty coverage to commercial and personal lines clients in central New York, and Falcone Associates offers employee benefits. The brokerages have 20 employees combined.

Michael Lavalle, former owner of Dominick Falcone Cos.; principals David MacLachlan, Renee Guariglia and Chris Marshall; and staff will remain in their current location under the direction of Brendan Gallagher, head of Gallagher’s Northeast region retail property/casualty brokerage operations, and Scott Sherman, head of Gallagher’s Northeast region employee benefits consulting and brokerage operations.
