MUA Announces Slate Of Officers & Board Members
Intact’s Anthony Falcone To Serve As New Chair
Nearly 350 underwriters, brokers, claims personnel and key industry professionals gathered to participate in the 92nd Inland Marine Underwriters Association (IMUA) Annual Meeting. IMUA’s premier education symposium was held April 29-May 3, 2023, at the Loews Canyon Rest in Tucson, AZ. The first order of business was the announcement of the approval of the election results for the 2023 slate of officers by IMUA’s Vice President & Secretary, Lillian Colson. Ms. Colson announced that Anthony Falcone, Intact, will serve as the association’s new Chair. Deputy Chair will be Arthur Sieder, Great American, and Vice Chair, Sharon Primerano, AIG. Kevin O’Brien and Lillian Colson — the Association’s President and CEO and Vice President and Secretary, respectively — were also re-elected.
Commenting on his acceptance, Anthony Falcone praised the membership for their strong commitment to supporting the association’s efforts, as evidenced by the record number of attendees at this year’s annual meeting. He said, “Regardless of the roadblocks the association has had to endure, the work of the IMUA relentlessly continued its commitment to advancing the goals of the inland marine industry. I am extremely honored to serve this prestigious organization. I am proud to be a part of this group of dedicated professionals, and I thank you, our members, for this unique opportunity.”
He further noted, “I look forward to building upon the incredible progress the IMUA these past two years under the leadership of Jessica Frankovich in developing the talents of so many young members of this association, especially through our all-access, all-inclusive remote education initiative.”
Looking at his agenda going forward, Mr. Falcone outlines four key areas where he will focus. They include:
· Expand IMUA’s reach – including a renewed emphasis on broker membership
· Ensure IMUA’s financial stability – including a new assessment methodology and all-access education
· Enhance IMUA’s educational offering – including learning journeys and certification
