The Griffith Insurance Education Foundation Awards

MALVERN, Pa.—Forty students 
from 17 different undergraduate and graduate programs were selected as recipients of The Griffith Insurance Education Foundation’s 2014 scholarship offerings. This past year’s schol- arship funds totaled $102,000 and allowed these students to continue advancing their education in preparation for future careers in risk management and insurance.

These scholarships are awarded biannually to students who are in good academic standing, and they support The Griffith Foundation’s efforts to inspire students to continue pursuing risk management and insurance careers. In addition to administering scholarships, including seven from Westfield Insurance and Westfield Agents Association, The Griffith Foundation created its own scholarship and awarded over $20,000 last year.

Scholarship funds were awarded to students from the following institutions:

  • Appalachian State University
- Bradley University
- Butler University – Drake University
- Eastern Kentucky University
- Florida State University
- Illinois State University
- Kent State University
- Missouri State University
- Ohio Dominican University
- Ohio State University
- Olivet College
- St. Joseph’s University
- Temple University
- University of North Texas
- Utica College
- Virginia Commonwealth University

“As a student majoring in insurance studies, the financial expense of pursuing my education can be a barrier to realizing this goal,” said scholarship recipient Michele Quinn. “The Griffith Insurance Education Foundation Scholarship has allowed me to continue to develop my skills through education, training and experience and will help as I begin my journey toward a new and exciting career in the insurance industry.”
