NEW YORK, N.Y.—More than 250 brokers and other insurance leaders attended the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the American Transit Insurance Company held January 26, 2012, at the New York Athletic Club on Central Park South. New York State Senator Martin Golden offered an official welcome and offered observations about the Company which marks its 40th year of consistent growth in serving one of the most important sectors of the insurance spectrum: taxis and black cars. Calling the Company “vital to the success of New York’s transportation and life,” Senator Golden noted, the expansion plans of the Company into Brooklyn, Long Island and Westchester County and cited the integrity of its leadership over these many years. “We in the legislature representing this city know that importance of your role in understanding a vital service sector and we thank you,” he stated.

Edward T. McGettigan Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer, welcomed all of the guests and presided over the presentation of outstanding performance awards, gifts and accords to several brokers during the evening’s celebration.
